Who are we at Swindon URC, South Staffordshire?

The congregation is made up of all sorts of people from the local community. We meet to worship God, to share fellowship, and to try to live out God’s mission in the world. We try to get involved in what’s happening in our own area, and we also support international charities such as Christian Aid, Shoebox Appeal, Poppy Appeal, Commitment for Life and a Food Bank.

We’re currently committed to focusing on ensuring we do what we can to take care of the environment and have received a BRONZE AWARD for Eco-CHURCH and are a certified Fair Trade Church. This means that we work hard to make our church more eco-friendly and justice centred.

We host a Coffee Morning, every Saturday of the month from 10am-12am. It is a wonderful time of friendship with people attending from the local community. We have a ‘cuppa’ and a biscuit together.

We have a team of elected Elders, who serve the church through decision-making, planning, organising, serving Communion, and in lots of other ways.

Inspiration in Your Inbox

Every day of the year, early each morning, the URC sends out, by email, a Daily Devotion consisting of a reading, reflection and short prayer. You can read them on your computer, phone, or tablet and they provide inspiration in your inbox! The Devotions are written by a team of over 90 people from a range of perspectives and places within the URC. If you would like to receive them you can sign up by going to DailyDevotions and filling in the form.
